I was born on September 29, 1971 in Fairfield, Alabama. We moved to Georgia when I was four and then on to Texas in March of 1979 when I was seven. I've always loved to write and can remember my 5th grade teacher calling my mother to laugh about the fact that he had asked for a one page story and I provided him with five. Yes, I'm long winded. I was also extremely shy and found that writing was a way to give my otherwise quiet self a voice. I have written poetry and many short stories in addition to the Sonshine Girls series.

A very good friend of mine, Lori Kaufman, always told me that I need to write a book and have it published. Of course, I laughed. I was never good at finishing things. But in November of 2005 I did sit down and begin to write that book. "It's about time," Lori scolded.

I finished the book in three months, the entire time e-mailing it back and forth between Lori and Tiffany Dauzat who both encouraged me by always asking for more.

I now live in Conroe, TX with my husband whom I've been married to for over 19 years and six children. I am currently working on my new book, Dead Butterflies which I hope will release in late 2010 or early 2011.
